Frank Wright Thomas House, Oak Park, Illinois 1901

Frank Wright Thomas House

The Frank Wright Thomas house is considered by some to be the first of Wright’s Prairie Style houses. The house “follows his definition of the style: no basement, no attic, living rooms on the second level, and sets of in-line windows. The raised living rooms catch the breezes and give privacy to the occupants. The dazzling art glass incorporates mirrored gold glass accents… The entry is through the arch and up to the left, doubling back to the right and through a glass room surrounded by full height art glass doors.”
